Interested in William Long, married Mary Trippe in ca 1667....possibly born ca 1644 and

died 28 Mar 1729. Can anyone help with data on his parents?

Can any one help with Mary Trippe's parents. Father John Trippe, Mayor of Hull in 1669.'

Bob,

The records of admissions to St. Johns College, University of Cambridge, indicate William Long was a son of William Long senior of Barton-upon-Humber, Lincolnshire.

LDS records his baptism on 16 Sep 1643 at St. Peter's, Barton-upon-Humber, parents William and Helen Long. He had siblings Hugh (chr 23 Aug 1647) and Helen (chr 28 Jan 1640).

A male child called Trip Long was christened at St Peter's, Barton-upon-Humber on 1 Mar 1676 - probably a son of William Long and Mary Trippe. There is a marriage at the same place of William Long and Hellene Trippe, (possibly your William's parents?) on 12 Nov 1628.

This William (snr) may have been the one christened on 21 Jul 1602 at Barton-upon-Humber (LDS), son of Hugh Long. There are more records of this family on the LDS website for Barton-upon-Humber.

the memorial in St Peters, B-u-H to William Long who m. Mary Trippe says he was of Louth and a Justice of the Peace for many years. Mary had a sister called Lady Rand.

You could try the Lincolnshire Archives website.
