Tim,
I just sent a message to the administrator of the Long Family site, instead of you.

I am doing research on a group of firedogs that passed down in the Long family. I hope they can pass on the message to you.

In short, I have traced 2 sets of the firedogs to 1st Earl Cowley after inheriting Draycot Cerne from the 5th Earl of Mornington in 1863.

Another set was sold in 1901 by was sold by Sir Henry Lennard, Bart, of Wickham Court, Kent. I remember reading of issues between female heirs and Cowley's inheritance. Do you know of a family connection between the Lennards of Wickham Court and the Longs or Cowleys?

I cannot find a copy of you book here in NY --or anywhere. Please let me know if you can help connect the dots. Thank you,
Tim Gleason
