About Me

Me!

A family man, professional worker, with a keen interest in local and family history.

I have been involved with a lottery heritage funded project for the last couple of years, which includes a connection to the Long Family.

I do family history reseach, helping others who share the interest.

Currently studying for a Bsc (hons) - so time is precious, so is my family x

About Me

I'm trying to get a handle on my family name. I'm pretty sure we're Irish, but now that I've found this website, maybe English? Anyways, thanks for the add!

About Me

I am a native of Jackson, Mississippi, the American state of which I am seventh-generation born. Before that our Longs migrated to Mississippi from Alabama, Tennessee and the American colony/state of North Carolina, migrating there in the early 1700s in the Albermarle region of North Carolina from Isle of Wight, Virginia, and of course before then, Dracycot, Witshire and South Wraxall Manor, England. Our earliest ancestor denoted was Robertus Longus in Latin as listed in the Domesday Book of England and the family resided on the estate of Chedglow's Hundred, or Chigglewae in old Norman English, one ancestor being the Abbot of Marbury, according to family lore.
